November 10, 20187 yr Author Dominant defense and special teams. I’ll take a Tressel ball victory everyday of the week. I’m starting to feel good about this team again. Those that didn’t watch the game, get to know Tate Martell.
November 10, 20187 yr Author I heard the win was as ugly as the weather. This was the type of win we saw almost every Big 10 game before Meyer arrived.
November 10, 20187 yr I watched most of this game until OSU got the safety...this isn't a game either team should be really proud of. Both offenses looked inept for nearly 3 quarters...once OSU finally were able to run some, the rest of it opened up for them.

OSU should be proud of this game because the things they were struggling with all year, they corrected today. It wasn’t pretty, but the secondary played fantastic today and the linebackers were in position to make plays which was a huge reason for OSUs struggles. Now Michigan State is horrible offensively and everyone knows that, but the confidence boost this defense gets from knowing they finally put it all together is huge.

I was talking about the missed receivers, dropped passes and poor run blocking for most of the game. MSU offense was horrible, hopefully you don't think the OSU defense is fixed because they were able to stop them.

Most of the throws Haskins missed today that looked really off target were where they should have been the receiver just didn’t sit in the right spot in the zone. I don’t think the defense is fixed by any means. But this is hands down the best game they have played and it’s not even close. Like I said they made a ton of progress in areas where they have struggled previously even against bad offenses. It’s the first sign that this team is what I thought they would be when the season started.

Announcers kept trying to bail him out saying that pressure caused him not to be able to step into the throws...but whatever the excuse, he missed a bunch of open receivers today.
November 10, 20187 yr It’s a step in the right direction. Still can’t be a complete team with Jordan at center, he’s not a center. The line would get a huge boost with a true center and Jordan in for Pridgeon.

There was miscommunication between him and the receivers several times today. To say otherwise is simply false. Haskins threw to the hole in the zone coverage several timez and it looks like he missed throws because the receivers didn’t sit. He missed a couple throws downfield that he needs to complete. He didn’t play his best game today, but for 30 degrees with 15 mph win Haskins played just fine. QB play is the least of my worries with this team. If after a game I’m complaining about Haskins play that means the rest of the team played great.

Defend your QB all you want, he threw the ball over his WR's heads several times and hit MSU DB's in the hands several times. To not admit he made several bad throws and blaming it all on the WR's just isn't what happened on the field today.
