November 7, 20187 yr Author I don't disagree that WSU's win would be better but to believe they jump LSU you have to believe the committee thinks they are pretty close right now. The fact that they left LSU ahead of WSU after getting waxed by Bama speaks volumes in my mind. WSU just doesn't have any great wins. I just don't see why you would think the committee believes LSU is better this week but a win over a average at best Colorado would change their minds. They place a ton of emphasis on wins on teams with .500 records or better. It doesn’t matter the team it impresses them. The committee genuinely looks at these teams with new eyes every single week. When you add in new data points it changes their opinions. They look at teams in clusters. I think next week when they look at the 4 teams we are talking about they will rearrange the rankings. For the record I believe LSU is where they should be right now.

November 7, 20187 yr Author Exactly. WSU stayed stagnant this week at #8. If the committee thought they were better than LSU, they would have made that move this week. Colorado is 5-4 and currently on a 4 game losing streak, beating them does absolutely nothing for WSU. It adds a win over a team with a .500 record or better. Every single rankings show for the past 2 years this stat has been brought up. A win over Colorado is something in the committee eyes.

November 7, 20187 yr ND barely beat Pitt 19 to 14 UCF beat them 45 to 14. Michigan beat SMU 45 to 20 UCF beat them 48 to 20. By that reasoning... UCF barely beat Memphis, Mizzou boat raced Memphis, Kentucky beat Mizzou on the road, and that's why UK is ahead of UCF.

UCF destroyed Pitt and Pitt played Notre Dame close. Nobody think UCF and ND are comparable teams. Well I’m sure there’s someone that thinks so, but most people who are looking at this rationally believe that to be true.

LSU currenty has 7 wins over teams with .500 or better record. Wash ST has 6 and one of those is an FCS school. At best after this week they will be tied. if none of the .500 teams lose. LSU has wins over 3 top 25 teams. Washington St has 0. If that doesn't change after this week then why would the committee jump Washington St over LSU?
