I don’t believe that this has been posted since Friday night, if it has I apologize.

 

Coach Montgomery has decided to stop coaching Dayton as of the end of the season. I know that Dayton and other teams don’t get a lot of attention that have struggled over the years due to various reasons. Regardless of everything, I wish Coach Montgomery the best with whatever he does, whether it’s in coaching, education, or anything else.

 

He made a major impact with several students, parents, and others within the community of Dayton. He also had many positive effects on the young men from Dayton off the field over his twelve years here, which is more important than anything.

 

Good luck to Coach Montgomery on his future endeavors.

Dayton has already forfeited their playoff game against Frankfort..Good luck Chad.

This was listed as a 1-0 forfeit on the KHSAA site. Did they play this game with less than 11 players?

He definitely did.

While I don't know Chad Montgomery personally, I do know that he has the total respect and admiration of our (Brossart) coaching staff.

 

Unfortunately, Dayton, a once proud program, has come on hard times, and has been a difficult coaching situation.

 

On opening night at Dayton their cheerleaders held a banner that read, "The Wait Is Over." Was hoping that referred to perhaps a group of emerging players who would

stabilize the program and lend promise for the future. Obviously, that didn't happen.

 

Best of luck to Coach Montgomery. You gave it your best shot.
