Ryle over Trinity in Sudden Death

Featured Replies

That's what my little brother just texted me from the game. Don't have an official score yet, but GO RAIDERS!!! That's huge for the program.

Wow. Go Raiders!

Great result for Ryle!!!

Big upset here, Trinity was my pick to win it all.

Trinity looked good in the first half keeping the ball on offense the majority of the time. Trinity scored early. I don't recall Ryle taking a shot on goal in the first half. Ryle's goalie played an outstanding game defending far more attempts than Trinity's goalie. He was awarded player of the game afterwards. Ryle scored with about 7-8 minutes to go in the game I think. When they scored the momentum changed dramatically. They seemed to believe they were going to win and turned it up a notch. Trinity seemed to back down some after Ryle scored. Second goal was scored by Behne for Ryle. The Ryle crowd was great and intimidating. I was glad to see a lot of the football players there showing their support. Even Bowling Green's student section came over and cheered for Ryle.

Congrats Ryle and good luck in the finals.

Proud night for the Ryle Soccer Raiders!!!

One to go - Godspeed!

Trinity's bid ends in overtime

GEORGETOWN, Ky. — The Trinity High School soccer team's dreams of a state championship came to a halt last night when Ryle knocked off the No. 3 Shamrocks 2-1 in overtime in last night's state semifinals at Georgetown College's Toyota Stadium.

After two scoreless 10-minute overtimes, and with just under three minutes remaining in the sudden-death period, Ryle's Patrick Behne struck the fatal blow when he buried a shot in the right side of the goal.

Impressive win for the Raiders. Bring the state ttitle home to Union!

The Raiders showed a lot of guts and determination, great job
