2A #4 Owensboro Catholic vs. McLean County

Following an inauspicious 0-2 start to the season, the Aces (4-2) have righted the ship and won four straight. McLean County (3-2) got doubled up by Logan County last week 40-20. These teams have one common opponent - OCath beat Apollo by 3, McLean lost to them by 3.

This should be a fun game to watch, Mclean ground and pound versus OCath spread attack.

I hear that a lot of trash is being talked prior to this game and it's not coming from the catholic camp. If it's true the cougars might need to pump their brakes a bit. I'm not getting on the OC bandwagon, but look at who they've played vs who Mclean has played. No offense to wkyhollywood but Catholic is no slouch running the ball either. First half may be competitive but I believe Catholic walks off with the win.

I am interested to see this game. McLean County has a good ball team who has a certain style that can give other teams fits and can be hard to prepare for. After the first few OC games this game concerned me a little more knowing that McLean Co is normally big and physical but the way OC oline and dline have played lately I'm not as concerned. I think it might be close early but eventually OC has too many playmakers on offense for McLean County to hang. OC 42 McLean County 13

I don’t know that a lot of trash is being talked but I do know Mclean comes in thinking they’ll have a chance for the upset. I couldn’t agree more with the posts above. I think Catholic has proven to be much more versatile than I expected them to be and they are better up front than I expected. To me, that makes this a little less interesting of a matchup. If McLean can sustain drives, prevent Big plays and maybe force some turnovers they’ll have a shot. But that’s asking quite a bit from the Cougars.
