Who plays a tougher schedule? I don't know, that's why I'm asking.

I don't think either team is yet to have seen a real challenge. Cov Cath's biggest test thus far was either OH-DII Kings, or 1A Beechwood and South Warren's biggest challenges have been 4A Franklin-Simpson and 4A Warren Central.

Cov Cath has a matchup tonight against the perennially strong OH-DIII Columbus DeSales team, who appears to be a little below their usual strength this season, they also have a game next week against IN-3A Bishop Chatard, which may be their toughest competition of the 2018 season, and also a matchup against 5A Highlands that will be a definite game worth paying attention to.

South Warren's biggest remaining games are against TN-6A Ravenwood, which should be a great game, 5A Bowling Green, which should be a really good one, and then a game with 2A Owensboro Catholic that should at least be counted in the top half of their toughest competitors for the season.

I'd honestly say it's pretty much a toss-up for which team has the tougher schedule.

Colonel Just FYI While Warren Central put 22 on south it was all in second half when the clock was running and all of South's starters were out and it was mostly frosh and soph playing. The score of Central was 39-0 with 9 minutes to go in the second quarter. South pulled all starters at that point. In addition Notre Dame Commitment DT Jacob Lacey did not dress for this game. IMHO if South had not pulled their starters in the second this score would have been really really bad.

The score on this game is a bit deceiving to say the least.

Definitely sounds like reason to wipe that one off the list of decent games. I thought the score looked a little curious, given Warren Central's 0-5 record. Thanks for clarifying!

You could argue that neither team's schedule strength has lived up to what most people thought it'd be before the season began. Wins over teams like Ryle, Henry Clay, Central Hardin, and Hopkinsville haven't held up in the subsequent weeks.

Absolutely true. Cov Cath has played Ryle most years since the mid-90s, and that has historically been a good, competetive game - especially early on in the season, when those two have generally scheduled one another. But especially this year, that's not the case. I think Henry Clay was a product of Cov Cath's contract in the Bluegrass Bowl. I don't get the idea that that game was intentionally selected, so to speak. Kings was a great game for Cov Cath last season. It was literally the biggest challenge for them during the regular season, but this year in the second half of their home and home series, that game just didn't stack up.

Personally, I don't take running clocks seriously. Like many different things in football, there are too many variables to deal with to decide the final outcome. That's just me.

Great to hear some things about both teams schedule.

I want to give a shout out to all the people on BGP who do the update threads. We really enjoy keeping an eye on all the different games each week. Thanks!!

One of the best play by play guys on BGP is CWB. Thanks!!!:thumb:

The computer rating systems say CovCath has played a much tougher schedule than South Warren. And it's not close.
