Why on earth would anyone rank Team B higher than Team A if they think Team A is better than Team B?

 

Any first grader can put teams in order from best record to worst. That is not a poll, it's a list.

 

But a poll collectively ranks the teams in order of the voters opinions on which teams are better, from top to bottom. That is the whole idea of ranking them, right? If not, then what are they "ranking"?

If Johnson Central had played a schedule remotely close to that of Highlands, I could see that philosophy.

Did NCC drop? I thought they were 6 last week?

Polls and rankings are all hogwash. From the AP to the Lit to the Massey. None of them are very accurate, they just give you an idea of some of the teams that are the top teams. I was just stating my opioin of why JC should be ranked that high. Of course JC would have a tough time beating Highlands, CovCatch, or BG, but I think all of these teams would have a hard time beating JC also that's why it is hard to carve a team's name in stone at the top of these polls.

 

I'm not trying to say JC is the top dog in 3A I don't care if they were the #1 team in the state with all of the classes included. I don't put much faith in rankings so I really don't care where JC is ranked in the AP poll. The only thing that matters is how they perform on the field starting this Friday night.
