Final

It was 41-0 at the half and a running clock the 2nd half. Ashland moves to 4-0 and Russell drops to 0-3. Ashland travels out of state again next week as they play Ironton at Tank Memorial Stadium and Russell should get in the win column next week at home against Boyd County.

Congrats to Ashland, not much to say other than Ashland has a good team and Russell not so much. Luckily for Russell they play Boyd County next week and have a decent chance to get a much needed Win.

Russell didn't really have much to offer Ashland tonight. This was as one sided a game as I've ever seen between these two teams. Too much speed from the Tomcats. They look like the real deal this year, especially once they get healthier.

 

Keontae Pittman is pure electricity. Every time he touched the ball tonight, he made everyone else on the field look like they were in moving in slow motion.

Well, I could not have been any more wrong about this one. Russell looked like they went into Putnam already defeated. I’m not sure where that came from as they looked completely different last night as they did against Ironton. I believe Russell is still trying to find an identity and some leadership. What is really nice for Russell is their next 6 games. They have an opportunity to go on a 6 game winning streak before meeting with the Rams in the Rail Cities Bowl.

 

Congratulations to Ashland. A very good team that can be very dangerous come October and November.
