Fairdale (1-1) travels to St. Xavier (0-2) after defeating Nelson County 31-24. St. Xavier is coming of a 24-21 defeat from 5A #2 Bowling Green. Last year St.Xavier won this game 56-14. St. Xavier Coach Wallace looks for his 300th win. Does he get it?

He should get 300 this week. It should be a comfortable win for the Tigers.

Anyone know why St. X schedules a game like this? I get that every player will likely play, but couldn’t they get the same thing out of a team who is a bitter better?

How does the coaching staff handle this game? Assuming the outcome is similar to years past, do they keep starters in a little longer to get more game reps on offense or do they play a quarter or so and start working in backups? Is there a right way to handle this situation?

I think the starters only played 1st quarter last season. New Coach so not sure what they will do tonight. Fairdale looks to be worse than they were last year. I’m sure when this series started it was more competitive but time to drop it.

But what is the general temperatures of the Saint X folks? Obviously the first two games didn't go so well, but is there a general underlying opinion? Are people angry about things or are folks more patience since it is a new coach?

I haven’t really heard anyone calling for the Coach to fired yet. It’s dissapointing to be 0-2, but it was rebuilding year on offense and will take some time for Coach Wallace’s offense to be implemented. He even said that it would be mid year for it to be where he wants it to be. If we had good kicker we might be 2-0. Missed a close field goal in each game. Coach Wallace being hired attracted some studs that are on Freshman team. I have no doubt in a couple years he will have the program back on track. I’m in the patient camp.

My concern moving forward is the running game. If they can get that established then I think things will start clicking.

I saw this is last game with Fairdale. Series will not continue in 2019.
