Arizona to decide if Sean Miller forfeits $1M if charged by NCAA

Featured Replies

The Arizona Board of Regents will vote this week whether to add language to men's basketball coach Sean Miller's contract that would require him to return $1 million if he's charged with a crime or found guilty of major NCAA violations.

The amendment would be in addition to a clause in Miller's current contract, which would require him to return $300,000 and any bonuses if he's found guilty of major or repetitive NCAA violations.

If Miller is found guilty, he could be forced to pay $1MIL back to University of Arizona.

Not sure how they could retroactively add that? Seems sticky to me.

Might be one way for him to try to "prove" his innocence to the school.

Don't know why the quote didn't post in previous reply.

I imagine this was a compromised reached between Miller and the school in order for him to continue to be employed there.

I would agree you are spot on.
