Wow, just you mentioning Columbo made me think of another theme song that I always enjoyed growing up. Anyone else remember the NBC Mystery Movie on Sunday nights? In addition to Columbo, they'd alternate with McCloud (Dennis Weaver) and McMillan & Wife (Rock Hudson/Susan St. James).
February 19, 20188 yr As far as TV themes written for the show, I've got to say, hands down, that my top five are: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) ...the M*A*S*H theme, Suicide Is Painless, was actually written originally for the movie, but that's close enough for me.
February 21, 20188 yr This may be a curve ball. Subtle, bit serious tone and opening that let you know the comedy was based on events that were serious. Even the actual song title was haunting - Suicide is Painless.
