I read in the paper yesterday that Fulton City is now #10 in the AP polls. What is your take on this? I can think of several teams that would be more deserving to to be ranked ahead of em at this point. They have had a great season if you are going by wins, they are undefeated, yet their opponents record is 5-32.

They are not even close to a top 10 team in 1A; yet, by winning they have slowly crept up in the polls. Kudos to the Bulldogs.

Fulton City’s opponent’s record is a combined 7-49.

I do not feel like that Fulton City is a top ten team based on the teams that they have played...but let's give them credit...they have beaten everyone on their schedule so far. I had a chance to talk to Coach Lohaus the other day...who is one of the classiest people you could ever talk to...and he knows that his team has not played world beaters...but then again you could probably take a look at a lot of teams schedules...including some in the top ten in other brackets...and one #1 team...who has not played any caliber opponents but yet still get some love in the polls. If it generates some excitement in Fulton then by all means congratulations as it would not do that program any good scheduling the likes of Marshall County, Tilghman, Hopkinsville on their schedule and having their numbers dwindle any more than what they are. So if they can pick up some wins over some opponents and get some confidence and feel a little bit better about themselves...then I have nothing against it. Besides...when was the last time a Mayfield- Fulton City regular season matchup has generated any press...much less one of two top ten teams playing each other...lol.

Yeah, I was just questioning the rankings, that was all. This is a good thing for both Mayfield and Fulton City and all of the 1A west teams actually. But it has to be bringing some more cash and recognition into the program at Fulton City and that is a great thing for the school and its community.

I don't know if Fulton City being ranked #10 and NCC not being ranked means that 1A is down all over the state, but it seems like that could very well be possible this year.

Fulton City being ranked only means the AP poll is worthless, which everyone already knows.
