You honestly think Lane Johnson opening his mouth is going to be worth points on the board? Brady is the best ever, but he doesn't need a reason to come out and do his thing. It undercuts his greatness in a weird way.

 

Brady once laughed at the notion of the NY Giants saying they would hold the Patriots to 17 points in the Superbowl. They held him to 14. Was it because they talked? No. Was it because Brady mockingly responded? No. It was because they were able to pressure Brady (and Eli throwing up a prayer that I still can't wrap my head around).

 

Nope. I just think it's funny all these guys who have never been there, never won a dang thing, are constantly running their mouths when the play the team who is there every year. It never ends well for them.

If history has taught us anything it is, the last 7 Super Bowl appearances by the Pats have all been nail biters. Among the most exciting championship games in all sports. I can see the Pats winning obviously, but if the Eagles show up like last night I can see them shutting the Pats down. I'm taking the Eagles by 10. They have an awesome D and a QB that can actually make plays

Exactly. If anything it puts more pressure on those making the statements.

 

When I saw the actual quote I was disappointed. I thought it was more than that, something like making a statement on what they were going to do with him. Calling him pretty boy at the same time saying he's the GOAT and then wishing to dethrone him seems pretty blah.

I like the Pats to win but not cover (I think the line opened up with the Pats a 5.5 favorite). Since all 7 SB's that Brady has played in have been very close games...all with the outcome in doubt with 1-2 minutes remaining...I would take the points.
