Doss 65 Fern Creek 59

Doss plays trinity tomorrow.

Well you kinda saw this coming. Something is not quite right with FC right now...might be injuries, chemistry etc. Congrats to Doss, well deserved victory

Way to go Dragons!

Fern Creek got absolutely out coached. Which, if you’ve watched them, it’s not a shock. Schooler is a great man. Great motivator. But he still can’t do the X and O thing.

I don't know I saw the same thing, the coach can't shoot free throws and Fern Creek missed 11 Fts shootings 13/24 or barely 50%. The coach can't go guard Franklin who was an absolute monster going for 25 shooting from both on drives and 3 point shots. Sometimes the kids have to win games and aside from Ahmad Price who played with a splint on his shooting hand but still had 21 points and 12 rebounds there was not the contribution from the rest of the team. Wales played with an ankle that is still sore and scored 11, but they were all in the first half.

I think you have to give the players for Doss the credit because they seemed to want it more. They got the loose rebounds and all the 50/50 balls. After losing to Fern Creek three games in a row over two seasons, the Doss players just simply wanted it more in my opinion. I am not saying the Doss coach did not do a great job or that perhaps Fern Creek's staff did not make any mistakes. But I do believe that to pin it on coaching or being "outcoached" is simplifying a more complex game.

Also on a side note I chuckle a bit at the comment. It is the exact same thing that many say about Calipari. Last I checked, they both seem to win many more than they lose. Players win games and coaching to me is important but not as much a factor than how kids play.

I’ve sat behind Fern Creek’s bench several times. “Go”, “you gotta want it”, and “you ain’t playin hard enough” aren’t plays or sets that I recall from my years of basketball. Schooler still struggles when it comes to adjustments. It’s ok. Every coach has faults. Schooler is a motivator. At some point, kids tune out the motivator and coaching takes over. Fern Creek may be at a crossroad now. It’s hard to get to the top. Harder to stay there.

Really wanted to see a T vs FC rubber match. But congrats to Doss.

Fern Creek will be fine. They'll be especially tough to beat once they get their latest transfer eligible. From what I've heard he will be an immediate contributor in their backcourt and provide the outside shooting they need.

Heard about the kid from fairdale but it'll be extremely hard to insert a kid who wants to score with that defensive minded team like fern creek you have to guard and which they do well
