October 17, 200619 yr Swee Lou is a good manager but will need to change his attitude to make things work in the "Windy City". Today's players do not react well to a manager that has displayed the emotions that Piniella has shown in the past. He has his work cut out for him and this will IMO be his biggest test in his career as a manager. Are the Cubs retaining their current coaches or will Lou name his own staff?
October 17, 200619 yr These comments might come back to bite him. "And Piniella said he didn't believe in curses that many believe have kept the Cubs from winning a World Series for nearly 100 years. "No, no, Curses. Come on."" I can see it now. In 2008 when he's let go, he'll say, "Must have been the curse."
