Former UK great Joey Couch from Paintsville KY has passed RIP, one of my favorite wildcats.

I remember seeing him for the first time on the basketball court when he was a sophomore in high school. He, John Pelphrey, and Minix,(think his first name was Mike) were quite a trio for Paintsville in the mid 80's. Of course, when Joey and John both signed with the Cats, this former mountain girl was very happy!

Very sad to hear that he had passed, prayers for his family.

I played against Joey in high school.

He was an awesome athlete and a great guy!

RIP Joey

I’m sorry to hear of his passing. And at such a young age too.

I really only knew Joey as a fellow parent mostly on Friday nights at Joseph K Ford Stadium at Lexington Catholic.

Very sad. Keep Joey's sons in your thoughts and prayers.
