How were the crowds at Logan County. At East Carter I would say they were a little smaller than last year's games, that I attended. The first game had a very nice crowd, with the 2nd being significantly smaller.

Will the threat of thunderstorms cause any problems tonight?

Seems to be clearing up but a lot of thunder and some lighting. Here At Russell high school.

It's thundering some right now in Flatwoods. I haven't heard if there are any changes to games or delays yet, but I will keep an out for any info regarding that as it gets closer to 6pm.

I've been following ekcsports and few other twitters associated with Russell as well and haven't saw anything either so far.

Just tweeted at 5:07 pm by ekcsports was Night 2 of the EKC Grid at Russell. Boyd vs Lewis at 6. Russell vs Rowan at 8. So it looks like its still on as of now.

Sun is out and it is getting hot.

I will try and update. Either after each quarter or theme of the half and then the final. Varsity part only. Running clock for one quarter does not give enough time, for either team to do much.

My final thoughts on the four contest I took in.

Was cool seeing a coach/friend from West Carter,even though it was only for a minute or so. Meeting two coach's from East Carter on the 2nd night was great. Learn some stuff about EC and the way they do things, Both coach's were really nice and seemed to be good people.

The construction over by East I think played a part in the smaller crowd and the weather and long travel on Saturday had t play a part in the small crowds at Russell along with the weather. Not sure what other things kept fans away?

 

A little about the games.

I thought Lewis showed they are more than a one man band.Robersion and Immanuel Manning should help Applegate in a huge way.

Boyd has Salyer, who should still be able to put up some solid numbers.Zach

For Russell Galloway is a difference maker.Or I think he can be.

Wallace is a stud for Rowan County and if he can get that extra showing from his line, he should have a great season.

East Carter looks to have a player in Eric Carter and a line that should see them put up huge rushing totals.

Fairview will struggle but if Jay Fergueson can learn to stretch his arms,he could have a nice receiving catching the ball.

Greenup County has their own stud in Dalton Halsted. If a couple of receivers step up for QB Eli Simmons. He could be in for a school record setting season.

West Carter has a speed demon in Leetavious Cline, who looks like he can catch it as well as run with it. Freshman Blake McGlone looks poised to be a defensive gem, who will only get better as he ages.Bryan Parsons, a senor will have a good season, if QB Rivers can find his touch.
