I just don’t think it’s fair that the only time UL fans get to cheer for/against NBA players is when the Cats are in town.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t believe J. Bruce Miller when he told this story the first time and I don’t believe it now.

 

If the NBA wanted to be here, it would be here.

 

UofL was the last-gasp tenant needed to fill a downtown arena that developers and local business people had been pressing the Board of Aldermen and then Metro Council on for YEARS. UofL or NBA, those guys (including Miller) wanted this arena project.

 

Now it’s done and it’s time to pay the bill and all the rats are trying not to be the last one holding the blame.

Beyond that, are we really going to argue that adding a pro sports team to a city, especially a city that already has an arena, brings no additional benefit?

 

The Yum Center “struggling” sure hasn’t hurt the city of Louisville, and especially not downtown.

 

I never said there wouldn’t be ANY benefit. My point is what exactly about having an NBA Team makes Louisville drastically better?

I love how UL always gets the blame for the Yum deal by outsiders. The building literally wouldn’t exist without UofL.
