Final

Heart breaker when GRC ran the ball for around 80 yards to have it stripped on the 5 yard line. Hats off to Mc for making the big plays.:thumb: How does it stnad now for who is in second place in this district?

Madison Central came out and took care of business tonight. Good ballgame tonight in Winchester. These two teams have a good chance of playing again in the playoffs.

Madison Central offense looked very good, could run or pass at will against GRC defense. Great job by Mark Scenters and the offensive line of MC tonight, there were holes all night and Chaz Hope had all day to throw.

MC defense looked good at times, still had some problems stopping the run. Two turnovers by GRC really hurt them. The trick play was a good call and Ricky Rhodes stripped the ball at the 1 yard line, not the 5. #42 for GRC is a tough runner, had a good game until GRC got behind and had to pass.

MC is in very good position for the district title now. If MC wins out, and Lincoln can take care of Montgomery, MC wins the district title.

Anyone who was wanting to hand Lincoln the district title needs to hold that thought, MC has won 4 straight district titles and the game at Lincoln in 2 weeks is setting up to be a huge game.

This has got to be one of the most competitive and wacky district I have ever seen. Any team in this district can beat anyone else in it on any given night IMO. Congrats to MC on the win and good luck to GRC next week.

GRC just can't seem to get over the hump. Who do they play next?

I know GRC has played Madison Central, Lincoln, and Montgomery in the district.

I saw Whitley coaches at the game so I assume they play next week.

Robell Rogers did not play, but should be able to return next week. Tristian Jones broke his wrist.. played with a cast on, he played but did not run with the ball. He will be having surgery on his wrist soon, but hopes to return and play in a cast.

I do not want to take anything away form MC...they made some huge plays when they needed them and made good on GRC's mistakes. They deserved the win.

GRC plays Whitley Co away next week and then South Laruel at home

GRC didn't seem like they was ready and focus tonight. I didn't see one player on the sideline try and keep there team focuz and not ready to give up. That's usually when #15 come in but i didn't even standing on the sideline. Is he even on the team anymore? This talent has been wasted all year in my book.

GRC does seem to have had focus problems at times this year. It appears to be in part due to not playing as a team. It is my understanding that #15 as well as some other players have not made the best choices this season- and that #15 as well as another player were released from the team. I hope GRC now will follow the advice of a fellow Card and come together and play-- and finish the season strong in the playoffs. Several GRC players have begun to realize their potential and have stepped up their play and leadership while others have chosen not to- and then blame the coaches. And the coaches have a responsibility to grow men, not just football players.

Where was Robelle Rogers tonight? How long has the GRC coach been there?

Hopefully Robell will be able to play this Friday. On coach Columbia....not sure on the years...around 5 years, was assistant before that.

GRC Coach played at GRC in the 70's, came back as assistant in mid 80's. He became Head Coach in 1998 or 1999. All but a couple of the current coaches played at GRC. There is a lot of loyalty to this program on staff.

Right now the standings of the top three are:

1.) Lincoln (4-0) in district

2.) Montgomery (3-1) Beat Central so tie breaker goes to them for now

3.) Madison Central (3-1) lost to Montgomery

Lincoln has Montgomery next then Madison Central

Montgomery has Lincoln next and not sure who the last game

Madison Central has North Laural then Lincoln

Lincoln definatly has the hardest road to go in the next two weeks, but things could get pretty crazy. When the playoffs start we'll either have teams playing in back to back weeks or twice in three weeks. Should make for some interesting discussions at the end of the regular season.

I think you are right, Cardinal Pride. The GRC coaches have a lot of knowledge, skill and heart. It's up to the players to follow the guidance of their coaches. All the coaches can do is pass on the knowledge that they have.....the players must choose to believe it and follow through. GO CARDS!!!
