Browns/Bengals Updates

Featured Replies

That one is a loss. They'll need to win at least one from Pit, Min or Detroit.

Beating Cle and hopefully beating Chi and Balt.

It would be cool if game 16 has a consequence.

They will need to win 2 of those 3 you mentioned. 9 and 7 could get them in. 8 and 8 won't.

If they would have won that Titans game they actually would be in great shape.

Dalton now has the longest streak of pass attempts in the NFL without an interception. Haha

That's my point on Dalton. 2 stories could be told. Going into next week people will say how great Dalton has been and the streak without an interception. When in reality he should have 2 this game. The last one possibly a pick 6 that makes it a one score game.

Kizer has shown some flashes today and made some nice throws. To bad his career is probably over in 2 more years since he is with the Browns.

Bengals really should be behind right now, O and D have both quit now!!

The bottom line on this discussion is the Bengals TEAM under Marvin has been mostly just above average, and Dalton fits that description as well. Dalton is right around that 14-18 range, and so are the Bengals. They are good enough to beat the average teams and on occasion get a win against a team better than them, but not good enough to win consistently in big games against the top tier teams.

The dilemma is to replace Dalton and improve, you need to go to a QB you are convinced is a top 10 QB. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense.

That was a perfect throw by Dalton though.

It kills me when these broadcasters watch a replay and can't see what is on replay. That was a lead with the helmet to Malone's chin hit.

Yes, absolutely, makes you wonder if he ever looked at the replay?? Outstanding drive right there!!

Big answer there for the Bengals offense! Bengals now lead 30-16 with 2:57 to go. That score should do it.

Gotta like what we saw today out of the Bengals offense, even if it was against the Browns.

It's about damn time Mixon had a good game.

Agreed. That is why I think if you are a middle of the road qb around the 14 to 18 range you need to have some other top characteristics about you to have a shot. As I stated a few times I don't think Dalton is much of a leader. Not a guy who knows who teammates can really rally behind. Yeah he is a good guy and no teammate will ever say anything bad because he is a great dude. Plus just not a guy who imo can trust to make plays in big moments.

I don't think McCarron would be an elite qb either and talent wise probably would only be around 14th to 18th too. I just think he has other variables that could possibly help. But he will be gone after this year. So you are correct you really can't move on from Dalton if you don't have someone to replace him.

I honestly wouldn't have minded to have seen them have had made that McCarron trade for the 2nd and 3rd rounder. Then also traded Dalton for possibly a 1st and 2nd. Sign Kap and draft one of those talented qbs coming out and get nothing else but lineman.
