Arroyo just dropped a few pegs in my book, for making public statements like this.

So can you remember any????????????????? I know "back in the day" guys came up at 19, but everybody did it. Not so much nowadays. Prior's injuries area mystery. His mechanics were considered "flawless" by many and he still has battled injuries. The likely hood of hurting yourself is much greater if you have pitches that aren't effective. You force them to work which results in mechanical flaws. They don't want Bailey to do this because it is sometimes so psychologically devastating that people never regain the form they had at the young age of 19 or 20.

Jose Rijo first appeared at 18 and had many good (12 total seasons) seasons before his elbow problems at the end of his career.
