Region 1 - Mayfield is the clear favorite here, but Owensboro Catholic is playing their best football right now, and are capable of, at the very least, making things interesting. After the top two, there's a steep drop off back to the rest of the pack.

(1) Mayfield vs. (4) Todd County Central

(2) Hancock County vs. (3) Ballard Memorial

(1) Owensboro Catholic vs. (4) Webster County

(2) Murray vs. (3) McLean County

Region 2 - It'll take a massive upset or two to prevent another DeSales/CAL rematch. Walton-Verona will likely be CAL's 2nd Round opponent. The Bearcats have been in the top 10 all season, but are probably in over their heads in this region.

(1) DeSales vs. (4) Gallatin County

(2) Owen County vs. (3) Washington County

(1) Walton-Verona vs. (4) Shawnee

(2) CAL vs. (3) Carroll County

Region 3 - Glasgow and Lloyd are the 1 seeds from their respective districts, but Newport Central Catholic lurks as a probable 2nd Round hurdle for the Scotties. The Thoroughbreds are flying about as far below the radar as is possible for a program of their stature.

(1) Glasgow vs. (4) Covington Holy Cross

(2) Newport Central Catholic vs. (3) Metcalfe County

(1) Lloyd vs. (4) Green County

(2) Monroe County vs. (3) Newport

Region 4 - Much like DeSales and CAL, Danville and LCA look primed for regional championship rematch. But, Somerset should not be overlooked. The Jumpers’ strength is their defense, and defense, as they say, wins championships.

(1) Danville vs. (4) East Ridge

(2) Shelby Valley vs. (3) Somerset

(1) Prestonsburg vs. (4) Middlesboro

(2) LCA vs. (3) Leslie County

Region 4 is winning the poll vote right now, but personally, I'm leaning toward Region 3. I think it's the only one that has three teams with an equal shot at getting to the semis. I don't think anyone would be surprised to see Lloyd, NewCath, or Glasgow win that region.

I agree with @DevilMayCare. I'm leaning towards Region 3 as well because of the fact 3 teams could potentially win that Region. Every other Region is really only a 2 team race in my opinion.

I'd personally be shocked to see Lloyd win that region...maybe that's just me but that Region is NewCath's until someone can beat them in November.

2 votes for Region 1 so far

Mayfield may have a running clock in every game up til the semifinals...there is no test or competition for them in that region.

It's definitely not just you. Their regional dominance over the years is not easily brushed aside, but they've got to find their mojo real quick. Their path to the semis is a harder one than they're probably used to. They'd have to go on the road to Glasgow, then, presumably, Lloyd.

I voted 4 but I believe that 3 is pretty much there with it.
