Logan County 49 Calloway County 11

Logan County woke up after sleepwalking through most of the first half to go to 9-0. The key play in waking them up was a run by Gary Hardy. He put his head down (like he always does) and bulldozed a couple of Lakers on a big 3rd down run. That lit the fire under the Cougars and it was one-sided from that point on.

The win tonight did come at a price, though. WR/DB Anthony Dancer (ankle) and RB/S Dylan Penick (knee) both went down in the first half and were on crutches for the rest of the game. DE Ethan Steenbergen looks to have a significant ankle injury in the 3rd quarter. He came off the field, had a boot put on and was carted to the ambulance. All 3 are huge contributors that will hurt come playoff time.

Hats off and a class move from Calloway County tonight. After Logan County's first TD, they lined up for a 2 point conversion and handed the ball off to senior AJ Reynolds, who doesn't play much. Calloway let him score the conversion and the Cougar sideline went nuts. It was a really nice scene. Logan did return the favor after the Lakers lone TD by letting them have the 2 points back. I love to see good sportsmanship and camaraderie between 2 teams who are trying to knock each other's heads off....

Overall, a good performance from Logan County after 2 gut-wrenching wins the past 2 weeks.

Has any team ever lost 42 straight, then won 11 in a row? That is what Logan will be trying to do next week.

I don't know mac, but I can say that everyone around here is pretty stoked about the season so far. It has been a fun ride!!

I know it hasn't happened in Kentucky and I'd be floored if it has happened anywhere in the US.

No problem. Would love to do it more if I had the time.

Great report Figs! Hope the injured Cougars have a shot to get back on the field this season. Please let us know if you hear anything!

Great win Cougars! Great Sportsmanship Lakers!

I’d say Steenbergen is done. 50/50 on Dancer and Penick. Definitely keeping track of it.

All 3 guys have appointments for MRI Monday. Hope it's nothing major but all 3 our in pain. We are praying for the best.

It was great sportsmanship by Calloway County, they may never know what that meant to A.J. Reynolds. Hats off to them for that.
