Was it the fact that Wilson was in the game or was it the fact that the offensive line was doing their job so that Wilson could do his? Two completely different schools of thought.

Are you serious, you don't think Wilson makes a difference??? Against sk, Wilson had 170 yards on 21 carries. The other backs had 50 yards on the same amount af carries. One player can make a HUGE difference. And when schwalbach comes back he'll make an even bigger difference. Every piece adds up. Sorry, I'm just a guy who watches the games but is not "in the know".

If Dixie does win, it will be because they stopped the big plays and ran the ball well by winning the war in the trenches.

Absolutely 100% serious. Can a back gain yards without the offensive line blocking? I was not able to make the SK game, but from what I was told by numerous people that were there was that the Birds OL and DL owned the line of scrimmage. I will leave it at that.

Odd place for this question, but I asked preseason and didn't see an answer (maybe I missed it). With the District just being CCH, DH and HHS since Grant dropped out, who does the winner of this District (CCH is the current favorite) play in WK1 of the playoffs? I assume there is a 5 team district elsewhere in the state that makes the playoffs due to the imbalance, but not sure.

I've heard that Guenther will not be back at all this year as he had a serious motorcycle accident.

If you think that Wilson didn't make a MASSIVE difference in that SK game, you're either biased against the kid for some reason, or you didn't see the game at all.

 

The sophomore RB's didn't do anything in that game at all. The same line was blocking. Without Wilson, we would have lost that game by halftime. It was a stud performance. Obviously, take out the line and NO running back gets yards, but you can't sit here and tell me that the RB playing didn't make a huge difference when the same line was blocking for all 3.

I was extremely impressed with Larry Wilson in the SK Game. He was patient and ran hard. Hopefully he and Schwalbach can stay healthy. That is a good 1-2 punch.

So Dixie's starting QB is out due to a motorcycle accident? That's horrible, kid shouldn't have been on one in the first place.

 

If that is true then Dixie's best bet is going to be churning the clock and running the ball 100% of the time, literally. They have an all senior OLine that is very good.

 

That said, I'm hoping the birds stuff the box and beg the Colonels to throw the ball. If Dixie makes the mistake to pass the ball chances are it wont go well, even if the 'Birds D is all in on the run. Maybe Weinrich will go back to the 90s D with a backfield of 2 CBs and 1 safety. That's all they need this week.

The Dixie QB Guenther was injured after week 4. Jeremy Adams has led Dixie since to three consecutive wins. :thumb:

I was also curious about this. District 3 and District 5 are paired. District 3 has 6 teams. The winner of District 5 gets the fourth place team from District 3 in round one. Does the 5th place team from District 3 become the 4th team in District 5?

As much as I would love to see the Red Colonels win this, I think the Birds will be ready and Dixie will have a hard time running the ball exclusively. Dixie will battle, that is for sure. If they can develop some passing game, who knows what will happen. Go Colonels!
