5A #9 Southwestern at 6A Central Hardin

Southwestern is 3-2 and had a bye week last week.

Central Hardin is 4-2 after a 50-0 win over Warren Central.

One of the Bruins did lose to another 5A top 10 team losing 17-27 to South Warren.

Since they have won 2 straight.

Southwestern has dropped two straight losing to Henry Clay and Madison Southern.

 

Who wins?

Don't know much about Southwestern Pulaski but Central Hardin has a stout defense, is getting healthy and has some playmakers on offense, starting with 6"6" QB Hobbs.

SW receiver JP Vaught (# 11) will be one of the fastest players Central Hardin sees this year. Elite speed. Reigning state champion in track I believe.

 

SW also predominantly run, which is par for the course for Larry French teams. They will try to run in down your throat and keep you honest with Vaught.

If Southwestern Pulaski is a run first offensive team, they are in trouble. Central Hardin will be the best defense they have seen this year soo far. Hard to believe anyone is faster than Livers or Witherspoon from John Hardin?

Southwestern had a good week of practice last week during their bye. They will need to continue to work hard to give CH a game.

Vaught is one of the fastest players in the state, bar none. His combine times and track times stand behind it. I'm sure Brents from Waggener and Moore from Trinity are in that conversation, too, but Livers and Witherspoon are not even in the vicinity.

 

Witherspoon might be a better true athlete based on his shiftiness, versatility (catch, run, throw) and of course his basketball skills.
