Jim Schue
Bernie Casey played in the NFL for several years and was a favorite target for John Brodie back in the '60s for the 49ers and also played for the LA Rams. But he was much more than that. A talented and very funny actor with the deadpan humor, he got starring roles in several '70s blaxploitation films, and even later riffed on himself in excellent fashion as John Slade in what is inarguably the greatest blaxploitation parody ever in "I'm Gonna Get You Sucka," which is still the greatest creation ever by the Wayans Bros. Bernie Casey also played in a number of mainstream flicks, including spending time as 007's US contact, Felix, as well as U.N. Jefferson in "Revenge Of The Nerds" and as Mr. Ryan in "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure," and as the star of Martin Scorcese's "Big Bertha." He was an accomplished painter and poet as well, and was in "Brian's Song."

swamprat
The movie I remember him from more than any other was "Maurie", the drama biography of NBA player Maurice Stokes, who Casey portrayed.
