Herald leader rankings

Featured Replies

I don't argue with Mayfield being #4 in Class A behind the teams that they are behind and having their 71.4 rating...but having them behind both Hopkinsville and Tilghman, two teams that the Cards beat, is a little baffling...especially seeing how they are 1-4 on the year.
It wasn't like Mayfield beat either team by much ... both games could have gone either way.

This is the one I just don't understand in 4 A.......26. Paul Dunbar 66.3...they haven't won a game all year. Can someone explain this ranking to me?????

So your saying that close counts

I think his (cardinalvoice) point has some merit but I still have no idea of the formula used to establish these rankings

I'm pretty confident it's based on a points system ... I'm guessing that a five-point loss to a team with a 75.0 ranking means just about as much as a five-point win over a team with a 65.0 ranking.

Its based on a points system to a fault. For example, Middlesboro beats Corbin by 20 points and is ranked below Middlesboro. I do know that Corbin has played a much tougher schedule than Middlesoro, but their record is pretty bad.

Thanks, that makes more sense now
