Virginia Tech 31 West Virginia 24

Featured Replies

Entertaining game. WV racked up close to 600 yards. Tech would have clinched it earlier if their kicker - very reliable last year - hadn't missed a couple.

Was wondering if either team wanted the win a few times in the second half.

Was a great game to watch. I love those old rivalries like that. Playing for W.VA / VA. state pride and a trophy (Black Diamond/ Coal) is an example of what college football is all about. I heard that these two were signed to play a home / home in the next coupe of years and then it ends again, :idunno:. All of these conference realignments drive me nuts :irked: , WVU in the Big 12 is crazy, that takes away games like this one, WV vs. Pitt, etc.. Other rivalries across CFB have been lost as well. O.K., I'm off my soap box now ....

The Freshmen QB for VT is a heck of a player, leader. IMO both of these teams may be underrated at 21 / 22.

Holgorson is going to be the new Bob Stoops. Talent to win but no map on how to use it properly.
