Rockcastle Co. / Bell Co. Predictions

Featured Replies

Down the stretch, as is noted in another post, special teams and defense win the big games. Bell definitely has the edge in these two areas. If the Bobcats can play an error free game, win the turnover ratio, and shut down the Rock running game inside....they slip into Mt. Vernon and out with a W! Bell 27 Rock 6.

I think that Bell will lose the turnover battle. They tend to lay it on the ground a little and they throw it up for grabs at times. Rockcastle will not let them get away with these mistakes, plus Rock appears to be stronger in the trenches this year.

The only comparison we can really make from this year is that both teams played Corbin. Rock beat Corbin 2-0. I really dont know what happened in that game, but it was the 1st game of the year when teams are just getting going. Bell beat Corbin 17-14, but should have won by more had it not been for 2 costly turnovers at the endzone. I really think this is shaping up to be a very close game.

I am going with Bell on this one.

I like Hilton and Slusher!

I REALLY wish that I could be at The Rock for this game but duties up here say I have to stay. Too bad my Fall Break isn't this weekend.

I will be live updating the game as soon as the Northern Kentucky University/Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville Volleyball match ends. It starts around 7pm and with the football game starting at 7:30 p.m. I should only miss the first quarter or the first half at the most.

I am already so nervous for this game...LOL. This is definitely one of those games that it doesn't take too much for players, coaches or fans from either school to get pumped up about.

If I'm not mistaken it will be Youth League Night at the game so there will be a really good crowd of future Rockets since all of the RCYL and RCMS players and cheerleaders get in free if they wear their uniform.

One of Bell's TD's was on an eight yard drive due to a Corbin turnover that came after Bell threw an INT inside the five that the Redhounds immediately gave back. Those two turnovers kind of cancelled out.

I'll go with Rock at home, 23-17.

I know people are talking about Johnson Central like crazy this year. But really I still believe the winner of this game is the Regional favorite. Both teams are hard to beat at home, which Bell has the tough task of doing Friday night.

I really cant wait for this game!

I agree. Johnson Central has been beating up on their opponents, but the W-L record of those opponents is suspect. No one has really tested them yet. Scoring at those rates would be easy for Bell and Rockcastle if they played JC's weak schedule. That is one of the reason Bell and Rock are always ready for the playoffs and District 8 stays home.

In two games against a 2A Corbin team that is currently sporting a 2-5 record, Rockcastle and Bell have scored a combined 19 points! I would not be so sure that either the Bobcats or Rockcastle could match the Golden Eagles' offensive firepower if they had played the same schedule as Johnson Central. Also, I am not so sure that JC's strength of schedule at the end of the regular season will not be stronger than Rock's. Rock's SOS certainly is nothing to write home about.

I look for a low scoring game. Bell County was 3 points better than Corbin, and the Rockets were 2 points better, so...

14 Bell County

13 Rockcastle County
