Specifically Langhi the division 1 qb who threw for 45 yards in game 1. I expected better and that is what the other poster is probably referring to as well. In your words extremely young offense that is getting better is not what he expected from the #1 team in the west.

 

Totally understand. I just feel as if a team is playing great Defense, running the ball efficently, and not turning it over, then there is nothing to be underwhelmed about. Would love to see Langhi's numbers up but as long as they keep winning (ugly or not) I'm one happy supporter.

It seems odd to be pulling back on offense and going more conservative and less explosive with a senior qb, no?

 

Online is huge but not great pass blockers. I hate it for Long and Langhi but it looks to be a ground and pound type of season.

The Christian Co. offense has been underwhelming. Receiving core needs improvement but running game has been very solid. A good passing game takes more than a good QB plus the style has been more of a ball control offense from what I've seen. Defense has always seemed to be the Colonels Achilles heel but seems to be there strength this year. Has really been flying around even with 2 starters out for the season. I'm also a huge fan but don't know that I see them as #1 right now. Can definitely get there by season's end but room for improvement as with every team. Mayfield has been very impressive in it's two wins. The top 3 are all very close in my opinion. Think Purple88 may have been trying to motivate BG with this post.

Defense has forced 9 turnovers in two games with two scores limited both Offenses to under 200 total yards only surrendered two scores...what's there not to be impressed with?

 

The offense just leaves me scratching my head. When I posted I noted I only watched the 2nd half but after you called me out I looked up the stats and yes the defense has done well but the offense has not produced and to add to that the 2 opponents so far are okay but not top notch. I left disappointed considering the Christian ranking but hey its early

I completely agree with toothpick, they didn't impress me at all. The team they played didn't seem that good either. I'd give BG and MF the edge over CC.

Who do you think would win head to head Mayfeild VS CC if the teams were swapped this past Friday? No animosity just curious of your opinions. After watching both games I left thinking "I wish CC and mayfield had played each other".

Very sparingly. I think he played one play on a Hail Mary at the end of the first half.

Well Christian county plays my cols this week if their offense dosent get over 400 yards then they for sure won't be number one for long. But I see them getting 400 easy. Reitz got 412 and Evansville North who isn't very good got a little over 200.

Especially this week with it being a huge one in the Purchase with MF vs PT. For years we would meet for burgers before this game at his favorite the Kountry Castle and when the game was in Mayfield at Midtown. A group of Mayfield fans and a couple of Paducah guys will meet there Friday in his honor as we have done since his passing
