Heading to St. Louis....

Heading to St. Louis in about 3 weeks. We'll be there for 4 nights.

 

So far, the only definite we've got on the itinerary is the Thursday afternoon Reds/Cardinals game. Our friends who live there hooked us up with tickets 4 rows behind the Cardinals dugout.

 

We went for a weekend last year, but we were there for the NCAA tournament so all we had time to do outside of basketball was check out the Budweiser brewery.

 

What are some must sees? Must try restaurants?

I really really like the St. Louis Art Musuem...it's really great for its size, and for being a free art museum. They have one of Monet's Water Lillies there, several Van Gogh pieces, one or two Picassos, Rodin, Lichtenstein, Warhol, Rothko, Chuck Close....

You must see the arch of course (call ahead to get tickets or it might be sold out).

 

You'll also want to walk along the river below the arch.

The zoo is pretty nice. It's free, except you pay about $8.00 to park, unless you can find a spot on the streets around the zoo within Forest Park.
