2017 Boys Pre-Season Maher Rankings

I think khsaa age is 19 for sports.

I looked it up and yes, that's correct but they do allow even older with some exceptions I believe. Curious to know how old he is actually.

Hopkinsville returns everyone from a team that had last year's state champion Daviess County on the ropes before losing 2-1. #14 seems a bit low for them

Is the the definition of "man amongst boys"?

The aged out age in KY school is 20 yrs, 364 days old.

Actually the rule is:

Sec. 1) AGE RESTRICTION

a) Pursuant to KRS 156.070 (2) (e), a student who becomes

nineteen (19) years old before August 1 shall be ineligible for

interscholastic athletic competition.

Yes and he turned 19 during his junior year, and thus ineligible this year. Had knee surgery and is trying to pick up with Louisville in the Spring Semester.

Obviously very talented! Wish him well!

What club age did he play?

He played with Rovers, but i believe he may have just played with their PDL team this spring

I believe you are correct. I am not sure if he was eligible to play on their U19 squad but it is possible that he benefited more from playing PDL rather than club.

Now will be the big question, will he make it to Louisville? He will sit out of soccer for a couple of months with the knee surgery. Since he is not enrolled at UofL , I suppose they will not be handling his re-hab. If he doesn't make it to the field for spring practice with UofL, I will venture to guess that he doesn't play at Louisville. It is interesting how fluid the college rosters are for soccer. I am not sure what exactly he had done from a surgery perspective, and how it will impact his game, but I hope he can make it back. It would have seemed perhaps best if he had enrolled and then had the surgery, under the guidance of UofL sports medicine and also been able to pick up some credits. maybe I am missing something

@BillOfRights, I'm going to go ahead and start a new thread with the week 1 rankings since this thread was discussing preseason. Thanks for the heads up that the update was out, though.
