Clay County's Zach Lewis...Check out these stats!!!!!

Featured Replies

We'll see how much Clay has improved tomorrow. I would like to see Zach do well. I haven't seen him play in a while, but obviously he has a strong arm. I do believe that Clays offense is mostly short passes......correct me if I'm wrong.

Clay can put up all the stats they want with their easy schedule so far, but they will get beat BAD by Rockastle tomorrow night and I'm not even a Rockastle fan!

Their schedule so far may have been easy, but so have lots of other teams and they haven't put up 414 yards passing per game. Give the boy some props.

Good point! I've seen some so-called good teams that couldn't put up those kind of numbers in practice.

If I'm not mistaken, he had over 400 yds. in their playoff game last year against Ashland. The Ashland people thought he was great. I think some of you want to put him down just because you don't like Clay. Give the kid some credit. I heard he had just turned 16.
6'2" is tall enough to be a major D-1 prospect if the kid has the talent, but he should really hit the weights and try to put on some lean muscle.

For those who have seen him, is he a legit prospect, or just a system guy?

I have not seen him in person, but judging from what I have seen on highlights I would say that he is a legit prospect. Obviously he needs to continue to improve to be a D-1 or 1AA QB, but the potential is there.

Hasn't faced much defense yet, has he???

Better have MAJOR talent to be 6' 2'' and make it in div 1

You make numerous good points. I think on the whole, though, Clay County is a much improved team. But while Clay lost two more games in 2005, there non-conference schedule is much stronger than it was in 2004. I'm not saying its comparable to Boyle or Highlands or St. Xavier, but its much improved from the past. Most people thought Clay County would fall off to nothing after 2004 and that hasn't been the case at all.

I agree Clay is a much better team and this kid is for real. My only point was the stats quoted didn't support the argument. I am a Rock grad but I am usually pretty objective when it comes to their program. This game will not be a blowout on either side. It will be a hard fought game on both sides. Clay may even put up some good offensive numbers but the Rock has a way of keeping people out of the end zone and that's what wins ball games. My prediction:

Rock 21

Clay 14

Clay Co. will be one of the top dogs in their new District.

Clay, Whitley and North Laurel should fight it out for the district title the next couple of years.
