If Stephenson and Romano can just get over the mental hurdle of throwing strikes they have the stuff to be really solid starters. I'm hopeful the next 2 months will allow them the time to get it figured out.

Romano has been under 3 BB/9 in the minors and is over 7 per 9 so far in his young ML career.

Stephenson was around 4 BB/9 in the minors (which is entirely too many) and has been just under 6 in the majors.

^ Leading up to that start Stephenson had something like 2 BB in his last 30 IP in AAA. Not sure what happened.

DeSclafani threw 4.0 shutout innings with 6 strikeouts in his rehab start.

Should the Reds call up Jesse Winker? | redsminorleagues.com

Jesse Winker is currently hitting .314/.395/.408 this season for the Louisville Bats. He’s hit 22 doubles and two home runs for the Bats this season in 85 games. That’s also come along with 38 walks and 46 strikeouts. Since May began he’s been even better, hitting .329/.409/.434 in 264 plate appearances.

Scott Schebler currently occupies one of the two positions that Jesse Winker can play in Cincinnati. It’s been a tough month of July for Schebler, who is hitting .136 on the month with four walks. The Reds right fielder has been dealing with a shoulder injury that’s been nagging at him. He originally injured the shoulder in June, but Bryan Price noted over the weekend that it’s been bothering him ever since.

Methinks that the Reds are gonna scare 100 losses. Currently on pace for 97, but I think with a good push they can get there :lol2:. But, the '12 Astros lost over 100 and they've turned it around nicely perched atop the AL west by 16 games.

I may be crazy, but I feel good about this series. I think HT has a strong performance for us.

Price said recently that when Winker eventually returned, he would play and get real look. Guessing OF rotation begins #reds

@Reds

Since the start of the 2016 season, Adam Duvall leads all National League outfielders with 175 RBI. #RedHots

Must be a full moon tonight...Hamilton with a dinger. Also, Winker gets his first HR.

Reds up 8-1, still in the 4th.

And Bailey with a strong outing.
