This time tomorrow, everybody in Johnson County will be making there way toward the corner of 11th street and Jefferson Avenue in Paintsville.

I asked this question in the other thread... Does any other teams play for a traveling trophy?

 

My wife said when she was in high school, Valley would play PRP for the "Snowman".

I agree. This game will have a big crowd, lots of energy and may give JC the boost they need for the next 3 games and post-season. I hope there is 5,000 people watching this game tomorrow night.

Has anyone heard about the status of JK Ratliff? When he was injured they said it could be from 3-6 weeks so a speedy recovery would have him back in this game. I know that he was supposed to go to the doc Monday to see if he was going to be able to play but I havent heard anything about how that went. Even if he was able to play this game, I could see Matney letting him rest til next week when JC plays Greenup Co. or possibly til the showdown with Ashland which would give him plenty of time to heal.

I was referring to their school enrollment. However you just reinforced my statement. Any year Paintsville dresses more kids on the gridiron than Johnson Central is ridiculous. Johnson Central has close to 1,000 students in grades 9-12. Paintsville probably has around 200. Should JC dress more kids than Paintsville in Football? YES! Should JC beat Paintsville in football every year? YES!

 

JC has around 125 boys per class to choose from for football. Paintsville probably has around 25 or 30. My argument is that this game shouldn't even be close ANY GIVEN YEAR!

 

Unfortunately for some JC fans, this remains their most important game of the season. A game they SHOULD WIN on any given year just based on their school enrollment alone.

 

IMO i think that this year there has been a lot less people thinking that this game was going to make or break our season.. Last week there wasnt any talk about P-Ville like in years past it was all boyd there wasnt many even worrying about P-Ville. And i am Glad to see it because i agree with you it is not that important.

I know that JK would love to play in this game but he is just a Junior so he still has next year. No problem.. Soon as i seen your post i ask my younger brother if he was going to play... I think this is good.. I would be worried of getting him hurt again and him be out for district play and the playoffs and they are far more important than the Apple Bowl.:thumb:

I don't know. I think I'd like to see him play against Greenup County and get a game under his belt so he doesn't try to come in and start the Ashland game rusty from sitting out for so long. Just my personal thought.

I heard some talk today that there was some awuful comments made on the annual "You might be a Tiger... You might be an Eagle" top 10 list this year. If I was Paintsville, the last thing I would do is make JC mad.

 

This is why people that didnt graduate from JC or Paintsville cant grasp this rivalry and want to beat the other team 100 points.

Both schools had their bonfires tonight. Paintsville had theirs at the rec center and JC had theirs at their campus. HOPEFULLY tomorrow there wont be anybody from either school do anything stupid.

If you look at the pics I posted on the previous page, you will see that JC has never won this game 3 years straight. Its too bad for Paintsville that terrible streak ends this year!

Oh yea... that is part of it. My point is to all those on here saying it is bad sportsmanship to run up the score... you are crazy for thinking that. Lets just hope that EVERYBODY will use their head tomorrow.
