As a part of the celebration of the Bengal's 50th year of existence, the organization is having fans vote on a "First 50" team of the 50 greatest past Bengals players. The voting period has officially ended, but I thought it might be fun to discuss who you'd pick by position.

Given the percent of quarterbacks from the total pool of players to choose from, plus their impact on the team's performance, you should be able to pick 4 QBs and still keep a fairly even distribution from among other positions.

You can check out the players in the link and look at some basic info on their individual careers with the team. Bengals First 50

QUARTERBACKS:

1) Anderson, Ken

2) Blake, Jeff

3) Carter, Virgil

4) Cook, Greg

5) Esiason, Boomer

6) Kitna, John

7) Stofa, John

I'll take Ken Anderson over every other QB listed. Loved his accuracy. I also selected Boomer for taking the Bengals to the Super Bowl and nearly beating Joe Montana's Niners.

Anderson was the man,for so many years. The classic drop back q.b..

Boomer #2, no doubt. Then i go Blake, and Cook. We will never know how good Greg Cook could have been.

I do not think there are 4 worthy of making the Top 50 team. (Sadly)

I would think Anderson and Boomer are it. Greg Cook could have been but the injury took all that away. Virgil Carter was decent as was Kitna. But decent does not get you a spot.

Frankdracman, totally agree with you,but it said to pick four,so i picked four!!!!

Call me a sheep,just heard me there...lol!!!

You are a :bunny: To put any of those other QBs in with Kenny or Boomer is like putting Darrell Chaney in with Larkin and Concepcion because you need more than two shortstops

Frankdracman, right on!!! ...lol! BTW, I have met Darrell Chaney, great guy!!!

Plantmanky......REALLY!!! You can't find one?

Off that list no. Why are Palmer and Dalton not on the list?

Current active players are not eligible.

Yes,only retired players. I still take Anderson and Esiason, over Palmer and Dalton.

Esiason maybe i guess. Anderson no way.

I'd take either Anderson or Esiason, but curious, why a "no way" on Anderson? Did you ever see him play?
