June 23, 20179 yr URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Tornado Watch Number 368 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 330 PM EDT Fri Jun 23 2017 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Tornado Watch for portions of South-central and Eastern Kentucky * Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 330 PM until 1000 PM EDT. * Primary threats include... A few tornadoes possible Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible SUMMARY...Strong low-level/deep-layer shear and a moist environment ahead of the remnants of Cindy will result in a potential for some supercells capable of a tornado risk and damaging winds. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 65 statute miles east and west of a line from 55 miles north of Jackson KY to 50 miles southwest of London KY. June 23, 20179 yr Tornado warning in the Howardstown area where LaRue, Nelson and Marion counties come together. Pouring rain here in Bardstown. Some roads flooded from what I've heard.

June 24, 20179 yr Parts of Boyd, Lawrence and Carter counties were under a tornado warning around 730. Lots of rain and rotation in the sky here in the Ashland area, along with rotational winds from watching the trees, but I doubt there was anything major going on with the wind. Some seriously heavy rain though 1"+ per hour since around 7pm and it's still coming down steady. I could see some of the more rural, hilly areas seeing some major flash flooding from this. Be safe!
June 24, 20179 yr Entrance to our neighborhood was closed by the police because of flooding over Old Boonesboro road. It was really bad.

June 24, 20179 yr nWo was right on target with this storm forecast. Most of the southeast part of the state wasn't impacted like the rest of the state. Thanks for the updates! My county in SE Ky was spared from most of the heavy rain. Most of it was to the west and north of us. We got some heavy rain and wind around 9:00 last night that lasted about 30-40 minutes and that was the worst. Yesterday afternoon I played 18 holes of golf at our course and only had to tolerate an occasional light shower but nothing heavy.

I've been asked a few times how do my forecasts compare to others. I really don't know because I don't look at other forecasts any more. In the past I found that by doing that it would affect how I read the modeling data.
