A Dog's Purpose

Featured Replies

Wife and I watched this one last night. Seemed like a really simple movie but we both really enjoyed it. It was pretty dusty in our house.

Anyone else seen it?

Yeah we saw it at the theater when it came out, it was dusty in the theater also.

Watched it at home last week. That dust must be everywhere.

Thanks for the review. I haven't seen it yet, but I read the book a few years ago. It was different, but I enjoyed it. There are some parts of the book that really stuck with me in a way that's hard to describe. I am interested to see if these moments are communicated in the movie. I won't say too much to risk spoiling the plot.

He always looks so sad in pictures I've seen.

Is this the movie that they were caught on film abusing one of the dogs during filming?

No and yes. There were accusations which were found to be without merit. An independent investigation by a person with animal abuse experience found that while the treatment could have been gentler towards the German Shepherd that did not want to enter the water, that it did not constitute abuse. Video distributed by TMZ was severely edited to evoke a story of abuse which was not the case.

I think @doomer said it perfectly.

Yes, it is that movie. However, that was an inaccurate accusation from everything I saw after the fact.
