It seems an obscure democrat is stealing a historically Republican district.

It is still iffy that the Dem wins this race. He is at 50.3% now but projections from what areas are left to count are he will drop to 48%. If that happens, there is a runoff election between the top two finishers.

I'm just telling you what my political plan would be. In a GOP district it will keep more Republicans at home.

Agreed. I think the Republicans retain that seat fairly easily in the runoff. Barring something extraordinary.

I will also say the Dems ran this politically about as well as you could ask. Only one candidate in a splintered GOP field. They out spent every GOP candidate. They went for it because they knew the media narrative was on their side and had no shot in a run off. Just came up short. Honestly it might be the best political move Democrats have made in 2-3 years.

Talking point, a house seat has nothing to do with the President. Looking for a little silver lining? He will get crushed in the run off, there were like 8 other repubs against one dem. Nice ploy, but it didn't work and now its game over.

I don't see how the same could work the other way. I do think it's a little early; however, this is a Republican stronghold ( Newt's old seat) and this dem is an unknown.

Because we're not tired yet. The conservatives just woke up and are now stretching. Yes it could work the other way given some time of disappointment. Right now only one side is out of their mind disappointed.

While I'm not jumping for joy, I really have no complaints. He is doing the job he was hired for rather well. The rest of the crap I could give a rats behind about.
