Final

Wow! Nice job Caldwell

I guess Caldwell's for real. Should be a dog fight against Fort Campbell. I'll jump out on a limb and go with Caldwell by a touchdown.

This one's a surprise !!!

I wish for both teams' sake this game had been played on a dry field. But you've got to play in the elements.

Surprisingly, there was very little rain during the actual game, but it rained in Princeton early Friday morning and most of the day and the field was pretty slick.

I felt all along that the team that was more physical would win this game, and it did. All in all, a pretty well played game, considering the conditions.

I still feel that Caldwell, Trigg, Ft. Campbell and Lone Oak are all pretty even. But it looks like Caldwell and Ft. Campbell might be home for the first round of the playoffs.

Trigg couldn't run the ball and that was the difference, along with their mistakes in the first half that led to 10 first half points for Caldwell.

Dillingham was impressive on defense, as he has been all season.

First time since 1999 that Trigg was shut out.

Did Mayes play for Trigg County??

Yes, but Trigg's running game was non-existent. Caldwell's front seven dominated the game.

Ok...Did Caldwell's D-Line dominate? Or was it Trigg's mistakes?

Trigg fumbled a punt deep in their own territory that led to a field goal. They also had several dropped passes that helped stall drives.

Bottom line, as much as anything else ... Trigg couldn't run the ball.

Not to many of us out west. Caldwell has made some significant improvement since its opening-night debacle against Mayfield, and the Tigers have some offensive weapons to go with a stout run defense.

After seeing Caldwell early in the year and simply going by Triggs scores against some pretty good competition, I, for 1, am surprised..Not so much that Caldwell won, but, more by the shutout against a high powered Trigg offense...Caldwell must be really improved...Rgn1 2a looks like it's going to be a dogfight this year...

Caldwell really struggled for about a game-and-a-half before you could kinda see the lights start coming on in the second half of the Crittenden County game. Since halftime of that game, Caldwell has allowed only 21 points, all to Lone Oak in the fourth quarter of a game the Tigers had pretty well in hand.

In all fairness to Trigg, had Friday's game been played on a dry field, the Wildcats probably would have scored a couple of times. But Caldwell's Rodney Bell could have had a pair of long touchdown runs had he not slipped on the wet field as well.

Still, probably Caldwell's biggest win since beating OCath in the 2000 playoffs. Maybe the biggest since beating Danville in the 1998 state finals, at least going by the LitRatings, which had Caldwell a pretty big underdog.
