Did Congress repeal internet privacy?

Interested to see what our privacy advocates say about this. This seems like an intrusion and I am firmly in the "I have nothing to hide" camp but I imagine that this type of legislation will bother a lot of people.

Did you think it was private to start with? If so thats on you.

I think this is self-serving by our Government.

To the best of my knowledge the NSA collects everything and we all know eventually that information is going to start leaking out. Now when it does leak out, the Government can point to the Internet Service Providers releasing information and muddy the water enough we will never be able to figure out who is leaking our info.

When any of us use any type of device there is no privacy and we are just at the tip of the Iceberg.

And the implications of this kind of information collection and how it will affect our future is mind boggling.

Nope. Not from the government. This repeal will allow corporations, employers, etc to have access to private information about you through the internet. That ain't cool.

I have nothing to hide and it's an egregious intrusion. We can assume that the right to privacy is gone.

I agree, the right to privacy is gone.

I agree, the right to privacy is gone.

Question is what can realistically be done about it?

I do have the answer but I am going to wait and start a new thread.

From the government? Yes. This repeal allows more than just the government to intrude on your privacy. Your browsing habits will now be fair game legally for more than just hackers. To me that is a problem.
