I am hearing that they are going to announce the new head coach today!!!!!!!! I am sticking with my prediction of Terry Birdsong!!!!!!!

I can't argue that even though I have heard a lot of different things.

Will media outside of a 30-mile radius be allowed to do videos of the announcement?

I don't see why not.

Well that's what we thought about the Hoop Fest, as well.

Only local media was permitted to do video of the games, which is pretty bizarre for high school games that aren't on television. It was okay though, I enjoyed that weekend at another event.

I'm assuming that call was made by someone above Gillespie's pay grade?

I still have the e-mail. Let me go back and read it one more time.

I want to clarify that I'm not upset about it. I absolutely love the Hoop Fest. It's one of my favorite high school events, period. I'm just saying it's tough to justify the expenses if I can't get videos and make a little money from them.

The e-mails said that videos may only be taken with written permission. I asked what was needed to get permission and the reply said "only local TV stations" are permitted to get videos.
