This was expected.

Probably a good move on his part.

Is there a future place of employment for Duffy, or he getting out for good?

Where is Duffy from? I know he coached at Danville, Highlands and Henderson (if not others), so he's been all over the state.

I wonder who that leaves to take temperature readings after Colonel practices now.

^^^I doubt you'll be getting any laughs out of that one.

Agreed. Although I'm not familiar with the situation or Duffy's current status with the program, it does seem to be in poor taste.

No laughs intended. They got caught in a lie over the tragic ordeal and the resignation comes as no surprise.

The whole thing is tragic. Duffy is easy to pick on. He can be distant and thought of as disrespectful to his peers, but I know first hand he had a lot of tough love for his players. You practiced hard, but they were quick and to the point. Not a lot of down time. Water was always given frequently throughout practice. You might even get hosed down like cattle. Calling him names and passing judgement on a situation you are not familiar with doesn't benefit anyone. I don't know much about that day or of the situation, but I know that no one wanted the outcome.

I wonder if any school will take a chance on him as a head coach again?

Does he want that chance? I know he stepped aside to allow his son to take the reigns; it almost seemed like he was saying he was through then.

He informed the team prior to the season he was stepping down after the season. He is simply tired of the 7 day a week grind. He wanted to step down a few years back, but Duffer persuaded him each year to stay. I can tell you, the Duffys are a very close knit family!
