October 29, 200619 yr Yeah ESPN must have it wrong. Here is the NCAA Rulebook for Football: http://www.ncaa.org/library/rules/2006/2006_football_rules.pdf I am assuming an Extra Point falls under the same rules as a Field Goal and a block counts as a try. I mean it makes sense, but this is the NCAA we are talking about so it was worth checking out.
October 31, 200619 yr 5/6 on tO$U home site... http://ohiostatebuckeyes.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/stats/2006-2007/09minnes.html#GAME.IND The O$U homesite doesn't exist!!! But it does show 5/6 on "The OSU" website:lol: Either way, Pettrey still had a great day. Blocked kicks happen from time to time as does a miss. Hope it does not become something we see on a regular basis.

It was his first miss. The question about the block involved the Minnesota game & you were correct in your answer to my question.
November 5, 200619 yr Aaron Pettry had another good game today in the Buckeyes win over Illinois. Aaron had 3 kickoffs for touchbacks and 2 of those sailed out of the endzone, another was deep in the endzone in the face of a strong wind. Aaron went 2/2 on p.a.t.'s and hit his only FG attempt of 50yards! This makes Aaron 8/11 on field goals after missing his first two attempts.(8/9 since) and I believe 47/49 on p.a.t.'s (will have to check the OSU website). The t.v. commentators mentioned Aaron being from Raceland,Ky. today and what a small community it was and they also made the statement that Aaron was on track to fit in a long line of excellent place kickers and kickers for the Scarlet and Gray and that he would be mentioned right up there with Nugent and Houston before he is done. Way to go Aaron Pettry!!:dancingpa Raceland is very proud of you!:dancingpa
