August 10, 20179 yr My question is this, are all of these kids contacted by a staff member at tmc or is there a large number that plan to go to school there and choose to give football a try? I know they told my son that they could match other offers he had and I just did not see how that was possible when they could give no athletic money They do a great job recruiting. They reach out to kids, make them feel right at home on the visit including a name on the locker. They find ways to offer a lot of academic funds to get the schooling down to about where it would be if you went to a state school. Especially if you are a member of a local parish.

Most have had some contact with coaches, but grossly overestimated their chances of playing, and don't realize much of the "aid" they are getting are loans. And they grossly overestimate their ability to actually be able to play because it's "only" D3 football. Probably almost half of the 167 are freshman, and over half of this years freshman class will be gone long before next season starts.

Period. Yep. 12% of the total student body, and over 25% of the males enrolled at Thomas More are currently on the football roster.
