Charles Oakley remained steadfast in his ongoing public feud with James Dolan on Thursday, calling the Knicks owner a “control freak” and comparing him to disgraced former Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

 

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Oakley hesitated when asked if he considered Dolan a racist, but did not deny a connection to Sterling.

 

“(Dolan’s) on the same level,” Oakley said. “This man has been around for a long time. I’ve never heard anything good about him. ... This is going to end up like what happened with the L.A. Clippers. It’s that bad.”

 

Sterling was banned from the NBA for life in 2014 after a taped phone conversaton revealed he had made racist remarks.

 

Oakley was asked to respond to Warriors star Draymond Green’s comment Wednesday which likened Dolan’s treatment of the Knicks great to a “slave master mentality.”

 

Oakley did not disagree.

 

“He's definitely a control freak," he said. "He has everybody in the Garden on pins and needles. The other owners know this, that’s the bad thing about it.”

 

Oakley was physically removed from Madison Square Garden and arrested last week following an altercation with security near the Knicks bench. Oakley has accused Dolan of harassing him for years at the Garden.

 

After the incident, the billionaire had Oakley barred from entering the arena, but the two have since met to resolve their dispute with NBA commissioner Adam Silver and ex-Oakley teammate Michael Jordan serving as mediators.

 

Though the meeting led Dolan to lift the ban, Oakley continues to demand a public apology from Dolan for calling him an alcoholic.

I listened to a Periscope by Clay Travis that address the issue with Oakley's actions and Green's comments. Travis can be a tool, but I though he made some very good points.
