Also, if Jim Bowden is to be believed, the word from around the organization is that they were going to release BP after Spring Training if they couldn't deal him. If that's the case, this deal is absolutely a win for the Reds.
February 14, 20179 yr Phillips will only be in Atlanta this year. His no trade clause is limited now, so if the Braves are out and he's playing decent they can move him at the deadline. I think Phillips is still in control of who he can and can't be traded to. I thought I read he negotiated that as part of the trade.
