Check your history. How many SK football players go away somewhere and stick? About half? Sounds right. I went with the under. And, BTW, not considering TMC in this discussion. In some cases, it's a shorter drive to campus than to SK. Hansel stuck. Baldwin stuck. Kuntz didn't go. The RB came home from MI. The lineman made it a semester or so at EKU. Thank goodness for GVSU. Looks like Racke is going to go, we'll see if he stays. Big brother transferred from Dayton to TMC and left the program.

At that time they had recruiting pipelines in Cincinnati and Florida and that's where the majority of their talent came from. It really wasn't with in-state kids. Great to see those opportunities for the KY boys, but history (both older and more recent) suggests that in-state talent just won't be enough.

Majority of Eastern's great teams were stacked with out of state talent, but with the influx in football programs, and how recruiting is these days, you have to get talent or make your talent from what you can get. Under Hope and Hood the program had a lot of success with Ohio and Kentucky boys. Hopefully this year goes better than last. Worst record in what 54 years, and the 2017 schedule doesn't look any easier.
April 19, 20179 yr We spent a day at Spring practice a few weeks ago. Numbers were a bit thin due to injury and illness. Defense definitely looked ahead of the offense but there are some nice pieces on both sides of the ball. I believe there will be opportunity for some of the incoming freshman to make a mark this year as special teams or role players.
July 13, 20179 yr I'm hoping for a huge improvement in Mark Elder's second year. I'm curious to see if incoming freshman Ray Horton for Belfry can make a contribution this season. He is a freak of nature.

July 23, 20179 yr Saw on twitter where the Colonels are a predicted #7 finish in the OVC per pre-season media. Not a very optimistic perspective heading into the fall. Hopefully EKU can prove the doubters wrong and finish stronger than 7th.
July 24, 20179 yr Hope EKU has a great season. We all hope they do, as well. Just not enough talent at this point and that coaching staff is significantly worse than the previous group.
