Final from up "on the hill".

Overtime

Thanks for posting the final.

And huge win HC!

Okay. Have to ask. Why so close?

Okay. Have to ask. Why so close?

NewCath had a couple of players step up tonight. They played a good game. Would have been a 4 point game but Pangallo hit a three from half court at the buzzer. NewCath played good just came up a little short tonight.

It was in the first post.... It was up on the hill.

Glad NCC played well they are so well coached they are never really out of it.

Had a meeting tonight and only got to see the 2nd half. Breds held a 28-26 halftime lead, and took a 37-30 lead with under a minute remaining in the 3rd. The Cross stormed back with an 11-2 run in the 4th. NewCath's Ryann Kramer (my niece BTW) tied things up at 41 with a NBN baseline jumper from 12 with under 3:00 minutes to go. The Cross scored a bucket to go up 2, but another Kramer NBN baseline jumper knotted things up at 43's with about 1:45 left. Holy Cross ran the clock down to under 4 seconds and could not get a good shot off and the NewCath desperation heave was no good, so it was on to "free basketball". In the extra frame, the Cross would build a 7 point lead, but missed freebies by the Indians and some triples by the Breds got things close. With the Indians clinging to a 3 point lead with under 20 ticks remaining the Breds missed out an a great opportunity. Alexus Pangallo made a great steal underneath the NewCath basket, but her contested layin was a bit strong.

Really nice effort by the Breds, and 8th grader Sidney Thomas for Holy Cross......LORD HAVE MERCY!!!!! I have never seen an 8th grade girl that tall.

NewCath was lead by So. Kara Zimmerman with 18 and Jr. Ryann Kramer with 13
