Your thought on the Inaugural Speech

Featured Replies

I hope he is sincere in his intention to unite Americans. I wasn't encouraged at all though by the tone of his speech. But, it's day 2, and another opportunity for him to surprise me.

As did his opposition. The only real reason most people I know voted for either was "the lesser of two evils". You and I both know Hillary wasn't any more "fit" to be president, at least I hope you realize that.
Hillary would have been an awesome President.

J/K. :D

She would have been absolutely horrendous. I agree with you that she didn't offer much reason to vote for her either. I don't see her running her campaign on hate like President Trump did.

As I said in another thread, whenever someone disagreed with Obama, it was always about race to some. All you can do is shake your head.
I disagreed with Obama plenty. Which brings up something else interesting. The automatic "you liberals", "the Left" from many on here -- not you though -- when someone disagrees with Trump. I would have been absolutely fine with a Republican at 1600.
He'll tell you he was a 3rd party voter even though none of them had a shot at actually being elected. Guess it give the illusion of moral high ground.

Did you honestly think Hillary Clinton was going to win Kentucky?

I'm not trying to give the illusion of a moral high ground. I'm just saying you had other options. Sure, if you want to go ahead and throw yourself in the delusional category by saying HRC was going to win Kentucky be my guest.

But the thing is...I WILL actually own things. If I would've had to choose between Trump and HRC I would have either not voted or pulled the trigger for HRC. Then I would get on here and say that she is unfit, a liar, doesn't deserve a security clearance, and played a big part in one of the worst injustices of my lifetime. Yet I still voted for her.

But, I'd own it. That's why I said the supporters are either racist or delusional. Either they bought Trump's campaign of hate and don't want to admit it on a public forum OR they didn't see it and are delusional.

I will say...I do get those that held their nose and pulled the trigger on Hillary. But...you did have other options. Those options had as much chance of winning KY as HRC did.

If you vote outside of KY I'd change a few pieces of this.

I disagree with your last point. Hillary oozes hate. It is more nuanced than Trump's brand of hate, but it is still very palpable. Hillary would have been the most opaque president in U.S. history.

Not only does Hillary drip with hate, she has no respect for the law and went to great lengths to avoid compliance with the Freedom of Information Act. She has absolutely no respect for we "little people" and the laws to which we are subject.

I don't completely disagree with anything you've said. But hate was the focal point of Trump's campaign. That's the main difference I see. :D

Nope, I voted in Kentucky and don't consider myself delusional or racist.

I see you're avoiding the question about HRC's chances in KY. I probably would too...

I respect your decision, but I identify very strongly with most libertarian positions and I cannot fathom how any libertarian could see Hillary Clinton as the lesser of two evils. Hillary Clinton has shown a strong disdain for our laws and went to great lengths to avoid public scrutiny of her actions. Trump may do the same, now that he is officially a politician, but Hillary has a long track record of totalitarian, big government friendly behavior.

For a small "l" libertarian like me, voting for Hillary would have been like telling a black jack dealer, "Hit me." when I was already holding 21. Voting for Trump was a roll of the dice, but his election offers a glimmer of hope to slow the growth and power of the federal government.

I see you're avoiding the question about HRC's chances in KY. I probably would too...

And there you go again, trying to show how you're morally superior to me.

By pointing out how you're avoiding the question?

Seriously. Immensely laughable at this point. You were one of the first telling me to own my statements. Which I feel I've done and continually am doing.

But...you most certainly don't plan to do anything resembling that yourself.

OK here you go. I agree with protecting our borders, I agree with dismantling Obamacare, I agree with America First on trade issues, I agree with strongly and aggressively fighting Islamic terrorists and calling out Islamic extremists and I agree with very very very thoroughly vetting any refugee from the middle east before letting them in the US. Hillary was against all of those so there was no way she was getting my vote.

I will never just vote as a protest, regardless of how the vote count may actually turn out. Jill Stein is diametrically opposite of me and Gary Johnson was a buffoon who couldn't climb the traditional ladder to power so he went 3rd party, I have no clue about any other fringe candidates. Despite some of his rhetoric Trump was most closely aligned with what I wanted to see happen and he wasn't Hillary. If in your morally superior eyes that makes me either delusional or racist so be it.
